Established in 1978, Lockridge Medical Centre is committed to the provision of quality medical care to its surrounding suburbs and demonstrated that commitment by commencing a new chapter in their family practice timeline.
Although the quality of services being provided remained extremely high, the centre itself had become very outdated and in need of refreshing to best support its patients and maintain its extremely strong community connection.
The brief was to create an environment which was functional in terms of providing good access, egress and flexibility of spaces, along with circulation spaces where staff and patients could interact. The space also needed to appeal to its clients, many of whom are walk-ins and may require priority treatment, or family groups with a broad age demographic to cater for.
The team at Interite Healthcare developed a design which spoke to the various stakeholders involved, conceptualising a functional, fresh and calming interior fitout which utilised light colours in a restrained manner to evoke a welcoming, peaceful space for both staff and clients.
A treatment suite comprised of 4 beds plus 1 private room and a nurse’s station/reception ensures a continuous user flow, with this complex project achieving zero defects through a thorough design, documentation and construction effort.
