North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre
A new, world-class, $28m specialist medical centre was unveiled in August 2016 at North Lakes. This 13,000m2 specialist centre boasts a number of unique and outstanding features and offers up to 38 tenancies for different medical professions which include specialist and ancillary medical services providing a high standard of medical care.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said the five-storey North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre was a fantastic investment in the future of the area, which continued to go from strength to strength.
The North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre is expected to help to bridge the geographic gap between private health services between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
“This is an important milestone for North Lakes, and will mean residents no longer have to travel to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast for specialist treatments, including oncology and cancer care services,” Mayor Sutherland said.
It adjoins Queensland Health Precinct, proposed future hospital precinct, North Lakes Day Hospital, Icon Integrated Cancer Centre (medical and radiation oncology) and the Westfield Shopping Complex.
Throughout the lower levels of the centre, here is a mixture allied health such as physio, dentist, pathology, café, etc. Levels 3,4,5 will be catering for a variety of medical specialists.
Keymax Property Group is in discussions with Private Hospital operators in taking this project further. It is envisioned that the proposed Private Hospital will connect to the North Lakes Specialist Medical Centre.
Opal Aged Care will be developing an aged care facility opposite the North Lakes Medical Centre due to start construction later this year.
