We Are Well Into September Now, Meaning We Are Well Into Dementia Awareness Month!
This month is focused on raising awareness and support for our fellow Australian’s who are suffering from dementia. We have looked into Dementia Australia, and would like to share these significant facts with you:
- Dementia is the second leading cause of death among Australians,
- In 2018, there is an estimated 425,416 Australians living with dementia, and
- Without any medical breakthrough, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to 536,164 by the year 2025, and almost 1,100,890 by 2056,
This year’s theme, ‘Small actions. Big Difference,’ aims to highlight how the simplest and smallest actions can have the biggest impact for those suffering from dementia and their families.
Interite Healthcare Interiors works closely with many Australian dementia centres and specialists, and we see how our small actions positively impact dementia patients, through the providing of safe, caring and welcoming spaces.
So, we urge you to join us in making a difference, starting with the smallest of actions; pledge your support in becoming a Dementia Friend and help spread greater awareness and support for those suffering from dementia.
