We are officially well into October, and that means we are well into Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

11018 pinkribbondonation

From October 1st to October 31st, this month is raising awareness for one of Australia’s most commonly diagnosed cancers among women. This health campaign raises funds for research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of breast cancer among Australian women.

Because of the importance of this month, Interite Healthcare Interiors would like to share a few alarming breastcancer.org statistics with you.

  • One in eight Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 85,
  • It’s estimated that in 2018, 18,087 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, or approximately 49 each day, and
  • Approximately 28% of new cancers diagnosed in women in 2017 were breast cancer.

The pink ribbon is the international symbol of breast cancer awareness, and this month our staff and families are wearing one to help raise funds and support the increase of awareness!

We would love to hear how you are getting involved with this Breast Cancered Awareness Month; whether you are hosting fundraising events or just wearing pink, let us know!

And, if you want to get further involved this month, why not make a pink ribbon donation here.
